Arrival in Turkey

We finally arrived in Istanbul yesterday afternoon after around 30 hours of transit! Managed to find our way to the hotel on public transport with the help of some very friendly locals :)

Woke up this morning to the sound of morning prayer (just like the singing at the arab churches) at 4:30am, & found a little cafe with some spinach/cheese pastry things called borek & turkish coffee for breakfast - yum yum!

There are millions of beautiful tulips everywhere - the tulip festival is currently on & are on our way to check out the Topkapi Palace (home of many sultans between 1453 and 1839).

Will post some photos when we get a chance. Love to all back home :)

Travel sounds great, we just had 14 hrs of transit to get to Shanghai - nothing compared to you long haul. I hope you had a goo book!
In Istanbul I loved the Blue Mosque, the bazaar nearby, and walking around old city wall on the coast. Check it out if you get a chance.

Have a great trip, cant wait to hear and see what you get up to.
